The Lion King's Roaring Success

24th June 2024

As the curtain rose last week and Year 6 took to the stage for each performance of 'The Lion King', it was instantly easy for the audience to believe they had been transported to the vibrant landscapes of the African savannah.

Perfect as a musical, The Lion King delivered distinct flavours and an eclectic carnival spirit, and just for a moment it was as if Noah’s Ark had emptied onto the stage - springing gazelles, swooping birds and a lumbering elephant showcased the production as a triumph of artistic vision and talent.

This beloved musical, adapted from Disney's classic animated film, was always going to present an ambitious challenge for our young performers, but as the final curtain fell on Friday, the standing ovation from the audience was a testament to a production that blew the roof off! Congratulations to all of Year 6, you brought the house down and we could not be prouder of your talent, commitment and hard work that culminated in a week of sellout performances and a shared achievement that will be remembered for years to come.
