Celebrating GCSE Results Day 2024
23rd August 2024
Such a pleasure and a privilege to spend the day celebrating GCSE results with our Y11 cohort yesterday. We salute their resilience, commitment and progress. With over a grade in value-added, and 43% of all results graded 9-7, they have truly earned their successes and we are delighted that their hard work and dedication has reaped rewards.
As the summer of 2024 unfolds, students across the UK are celebrating a momentous milestone — the release of their GCSE results yesterday. This year, there is much to proud of, as the results reflect not only the hard work and dedication of the students, but also the resilience and adaptability they’ve shown in the face of unprecedented challenges.
Stand out students were Sophie, who secured grades 9-8 across all subjects, along with Cassandra and Angela who achieved a clean sweep of 9–7 grades.
Among the many subjects that have seen outstanding performances, History, Art, and the Sciences have shone particularly brightly, showcasing the diverse talents and academic strengths of this year's cohort. Grades across the three sciences were consistently strong with an average of 85% of results achieved graded at 9-6. History was also a standout subject with 91% of students awarded grades 9-6, whilst 78% of Art results achieved were also graded 9-6.
Beyond the statistics, a key success indicator is how much progress a cohort makes from benchmarking in Y7 to achieving GCSEs 5 years on, and this cohort have surpassed all expectations for value-added achievement. We are incredibly proud of our Y11 cohort and of the individual stories that sit behind the percentage grades.
Congratulations to you all, your hard work and commitment has shown us all what you are able to achieve, and we cannot wait to welcome you back in September!
“This year we have seen our Y11 students progress significantly beyond expected levels, and this is testament to their admirable work ethic. It has been a privilege to support the cohort with their future pathways and we wish them all the very best for the future”
