A-Levels Results Day 2024: Celebrating Student Success

16th August 2024

Yesterday was a day filled with joy and pride for our Year 13 students as they celebrated their outstanding A-Level results.

Their determination, hard work, and commitment have led to remarkable achievements, with 50% of all results graded A*-A and 75% securing A* to B. Notably, nine exceptional students achieved A*-A across all their subjects, and we could not be prouder of all they have achieved.

Science Stars Shine Bright

This year, the sciences shone brightly, with a staggering 80% of our students earning A*- A in these subjects. Such success doesn’t just happen; it’s the result of a carefully balanced curriculum, students who commit to 2 years of focussed work and a support network that is ready on the sidelines should they be needed. Amongst those pupils, Mahima and Safiya’s shared passion for Biochemistry has secured them places at King’s College London, where they’ll continue their academic journey together. Safiya achieved A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Spanish, and an Extended Project Qualification, while Mahima achieved A* in Biology, Geography, and an Extended Project, alongside an A in Mathematics and Chemistry. Their achievements are the best example of what can be achieved with hard work and ambition.

Success Across Disciplines

But our students' achievements yesterday were not limited to the sciences. Aashi secured A* in Psychology, Physical Education, and Biology, earning her a place at the University of Southampton to study Psychology. Isra, one of our talented bursary students, achieved an impressive A* in Biology and History, along with an A in Chemistry, paving the way for her to pursue Medicine at the University of Bristol. Meanwhile, Sophia, with an A* in Mathematics and A grades in Chemistry and Economics, will continue her studies at UCL in Economics. Each of these students has shown an exceptional ability to excel across diverse subjects, highlighting a versatility and academic strength that will serve them well in years to come.

Our History students have also demonstrated exceptional aptitude, with 80% achieving A*-A. Kezzy, who has a deep passion for the subject, was one of those A-grade pupils, who notably achieved an impressive set of results alongside taking on one of the lead roles in our production of Les Mis last autumn. She will be continuing her studies in History and Politics at the University of Liverpool from September.

Reflecting on the accomplishments of this year’s cohort, the Head, Mrs Péchard, remarked: "Our students have shown incredible resolve and dedication, and their results speak for themselves. They have set a high bar with their achievements, and I have no doubt that they will continue to excel as they move on to the next stage of their academic journeys."

The Head of Sixth Form, Mr Walsh, shared his pride in the students’ accomplishments: "The results we’ve seen today are a testament to the hard work and ambition of our students. They have fully embraced the opportunities available to them and have secured places at some of the country’s top universities. Their success is a reflection of their commitment to achieving their goals."

A Bright Future Ahead

As we celebrate the success of our Year 13 students, we do so with immense pride and excitement for what is still to come. Congratulations to the Class of 2024! Your futures are bright and we look forward to seeing the incredible things you will accomplish.
