2023-2024: A Year in Review

31st July 2024

As we look back on what has been a spectacular year filled to the brim with phenomenal events we would like to share the highlights with you: our wonderful community.

There is no better way to start than with our annual Prize Giving: celebrating the students excelling in their academics, demonstrating their compassion by giving back to the community and going above and beyond in their co-curricular commitments. The Winter term saw the return of an explosive House Music event filling the halls with musical theatre; a St Margaret's Day focused on giving to those most in need; a flash mob Christmas video taking the school by storm and our first international sports tour.

As spring began to bloom we delved into a hive of research and individuality. The students presented inspiring topics of work at the STEM Festival; explored other cultures during Language and Culture Enrichment Week and our Year 11's took on the entrepreneurial Tenner Challenge. We also saw a number of firsts! The school helped organise the Hertfordshire Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Championships, a Super 7s Netball Tournament and hosted a wonderful Open Iftar with motivational speakers, a display of religious artwork and a beautiful spread of cultural dishes. Finally, our third annual ‘This Is Me’ show concluded the Spring term with a celebratory fashion show, demonstration of cultural music and dance.

To round off the year, an increasingly wet summer did nothing to dampen our spirits as we ploughed into residentials like Woodrow House for Year 4 and Grittleton House for Year 7, all the way up to Year 10 taking to the Wild Forest Obstacle Course. The dusty African savannah took hold of our Main Hall for the Year 6 production of the Lion King; music, art and drama consumed all ages as part of our Arts Festival which included an Expressive Arts Showcase at the Radlett Centre; a masterclass from Olympian Gail Emms for our High Performance Programme; an insightful Scholars Showcase and finally a vast array of workshops to really get those creative juices bubbling.

This year has been bursting at the seams with phenomenal events, exciting activities and unmissable opportunities that leaves only one thing left to say: bring on September!
